Langtang Trek Permits

This is a guide about the necessary Langtang Trek Permits. Here are the compulsory required permits & documents:

Langtang National Park (LNP)

The Langtang National Park Entry Permit is mandatory for every trekker entering the park. The permit fee directly supports trail maintenance, wildlife conservation, and local community development in the region.

Foreigners– USD 30/person
SAARC– USD 15/person

Shivapuri Nagarjuna National Park (Only for Helambu Trek)

If your trek begins from the Helambu side, starting at Sundarijal on the northern edge of Kathmandu, you will pass through Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park and require an additional entry permit.

Foreigners– NPR 1000/person
SAARC– NPR 600/person

If your itinerary includes the Helambu route via Shivapuri, you must carry both the Langtang National Park Permit and the Shivapuri Nagarjun Park Permit. Both will be check at checkpoints along the trail.

Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS)

The TIMS card is Nepal’s national trekker registration system, designed to improve trail safety and enable effective emergency response. It logs your name, nationality, trek route, emergency contacts, and insurance details in a central database, which authorities can use for search and rescue coordination if needed.

SAARC– NPR 1000/person
Diplomats/Foreign Officials & their families– NPR 500/person
