trip Overview

Tibet Overland Tour familiarizes you with the geography and cultural heritage of this region very well. Tibet is a desert-like landscape near the Himalayas because it receives very little rainfall. But historically, it has been a hotbed of Buddhism. Several monasteries this trip covers give you intimate insights. Also, it gives you how Buddhism has made a deep imprint upon the everyday life of the people living here.

Itinerary

6-7 hours Hotel

A scenic drive early in the morning towards the Kerung border from Kathmandu commences. Appreciate the views and arrive at the border. Complete all the formalities both at the Nepal and China immigration center. Along with the Tibetan guide and driver, drive to Kerung town for an overnight stay.


5-6 hours Hotel

Drive uphill admiring the beautiful Tibetan landscapes in the vicinity of snow-capped Himalayan ranges. Get the beautiful sights of Mt. Cho Oyu, and Mt. Shisapangma, and en route get a sight of enchanting Pekutso Lake. Arrive at Tingri for an overnight stay.


5-6 Hours Hotel

After breakfast, drive towards Shigatse via Lhatse. Relish the picturesque vistas on your ride and traverse the highest pass Gyatchu La (5,220m). Arrive at Shigatse and take a rest. Spend a night in a hotel.


In the morning, sightsee a famous landmark Panchen Lama’s Tashilhunpo Monastery. After sightseeing, head towards Gyantse. En route stop at Yamdrok Tso Lake. This turquoise lake is phenomenal. Continue to drive and reach Lhasa. Stay overnight in a hotel.


For two days, sightseeing at remarkable landmarks commences. Visit the most prominent Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street in its vicinity. Also, explore Drepung, and Sera Monasteries that should not be missed. Interact with locals and try to learn a little about their culture, and lifestyle. Do some souvenir shopping at Barkhor Street. In the evening, stroll around Lhasa market and enjoy street foods. Spend a night in a hotel.


8-9 Hours Hotel

The long journey to Shegar begins after breakfast from Lhasa. Adore the beautiful scenery and arrive at Shegar for an overnight stay.


9-10 hours Hotel

The journey comes to an end. So, drive towards Kathmandu from Shegar via Kerung Border. Pass through beautiful landscapes, waterfalls, and natural scenery en route to Nepal. Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.

CANCELLATION

  • Free cancellation up to 60 days prior departure
  • 30% of the total cost of the trip will be charged if cancelled between 60 to 30 days prior to departure date
  • 60% of total cost of the trip will be charged if cancelled in between 30 to 14 days prior to departure date. 
  • No refund will be provided if cancelled within 14 days prior of departure date.
  • No refunded will be provided if the guest will not show up. 
  • Regrettably, in case where the trek/tour can not be completed due to customer's own problem or sickness or unfavourable weather there will be no refund. 
  • If the trekking/tour is extended more than given itinerary extra charge will be applied accordingly 
  • If the agreed trip can not be organised due to bad weather or any unforeseen events, similar trip will be organised (in the mutual understanding with the travellers)
