Daman is a hilltop lying at a high altitude (about 2400m) in the Mahabharat mountain range. Situated within a distance of 80 km from Kathmandu valley along the Tribhuvan Highway, it takes roughly four hours’ drive to reach the place. It has been a magnetic stopover drawing national and international visitors because they can have their fill of watching mountain vistas covering nearly 400 km from a view tower built in the place. Some of the tallest peaks of Nepal like Annapurna I, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, Gauri-Shankar, Choyu and Mt Everest can be spotted in the Himalayan range covering almost half of its length in Nepal! Besides enjoying magnificent sceneries, you can also engage in short hiking around the area, engage in rock climbing and cycling as well. All in all, this is a place well worth a visit.
The Daman trip we have designed is suited to get the most out of this fabulous location. Drop in Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, drive to the place the next day, spend a night there and watch the enticing sunrises and sunsets and the colors they paint over the slopes of mighty Himalayas—you can scarcely dream more from a short vacation in Kathmandu.
