This short, 3-day trek covers Sarangkot, Naudanda, and Dhampus; all of which are excellent view points to observe the enticing surrounds of Pokhara valley. You also familiarize yourself with at least two ethnicities along the trail: Damais in Sarangkot, and Gurungs in Dhampus. Picture the unbeatable sunrise and sunset views from Sarangkot and from the vicinities of Dhampus. Stand at Naudanda and catch a bird-eye view of Pokhara valley, the serene Fewa Lake, and the villages sitting on the hill slopes around. And have close-up views of Mt Fishtail.
At the end, you find the space of three days a magnificent sojourn, making you appreciate the fine balance between great views and panoramas of nature on the one hand; the villages and local life on the other. And that is what the greater treks in the Annapurna region serves you: a broad, varying canvass of exquisite nature accompanying an equally diverse, myriad culture along the trail. When you are in want of time and energy required for them, Hike around Pokhara is the best alternate, a perfect miniature of longer Annapurna treks.
