trip Overview

Langtang Valley Exploration Trek begins just outside of Kathmandu Valley and later passes through Langtang National Park. It is a vast stretch of forest with different rare species of animals, birds, and flowers. Also, Musk deer, pika, Danphe (the national bird of Nepal), monkeys, etc. are a few to name. Langtang Valley and Langtang National Park are located near Kathmandu directly to its north. However, this area sees relatively few visitors in comparison to the Annapurna and Everest regions.

Langtang Valley Exploration Trek starts from Syabru Besi, the headquarters of the Rasuwa district. After two days of walking from there, we reach Langtang village. We move on from the village to Kyangjin Gompa. From Kyanjing Gompa, trek for a day to reach Tsergo Ri (5033m). Climb this famous trekking peak of Nepal and enjoy the celestial view of the Langtang range and other Himalayan scenery of glaciers and peaks.

Alternatively, trek for about half a day from there to reach Yala, where you can visit the famous Yala Cheese Factory. Eastside of Kyanjing lies a STOL airstrip at Chhaldang. In short, if you are looking for a memorable Nepal holiday experience, this Langtang trek is a very rewarding choice. Outdoor Himalayan Treks are happily there at your service.

Langtang valley 7 day trek in June 2023

My wife and I recently completed our Langtang Valley Trekking from late May to early June 2023, arranged by Outdoor Himalayan Treks. This is our second time trekking in Nepal and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This time, it was an entirely different experience – for me, Langtang Valley trekking was indeed ” Nature at its very Best ” The panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges, clean crisp mountain air against a background of the call of nature (chirping of birds, continuous gush of the river/streams, cries of the deer in the night). Walking along lush bamboo forests dotted with pretty flowers, encounters with families of yak, monkeys, mules ..an amazing sight. The sheer absence of technology / internet up in the mountains was quite a different feeling! To me, the trekking in Langtang was raw, rugged…oneness with nature. For the first two days we were going uphill with average vertical gains of 1000m each day and hitting 3300m on day 3. Steep ascents very often on narrow paths, strewn with rocks, stones, and streams required deft footwork. What goes up must come down..steep descents were a toll on our knees. The air gets thinner as we climb higher, thank goodness we had paced ourselves throughout the trek and we were blessed with excellent weather. My wife reached the peak of Kyanjin 1 at 4400m … where she enjoyed the great sense of accomplishment and the glorious breathtaking views ! The funny thing was, sharing with her moment of joy at the peak appeared two angels …two friendly dogs ! The beauty of nature is also present in the professional and experienced handling of both our guide and porter. Our guide, Subba is very experienced and was most attentive to our needs. Together with our young and strong porter, Madhov, they were a wonderful pair. In moments, when I thought I was going to slip down the terrain, a quick hand would be there to support me. Will always remember the wise words of our guide..”Take baby steps and follow the mule”. The warm hospitality of our hosts at the guesthouses provided us with a glimpse of the local Tibetan culture. The simplicity and beauty of nature !

Great First Time Trek

Outdoor Himalayan Treks made my first visit to Nepal an amazing experience. It was so relaxing to not have to worry about arranging rides and finding places to stay. Ram was an excellent outfitter and matched our group with the best guide, Deepak. Deepak wasn’t just knowledgeable about the area and great at taking care of arrangements, he was also a wonderful person who took time to get to know us. I had been tentative about having a porter with us for the whole trip, but Deepak really became part of our family. I’m going to miss my Nepali big brother! If you travel with Outdoor Himalayan Treks you’ll be planning your next trip to Nepal before you even leave.

We took a chance on you (Langtang valley trek)

This is definitely the place to come if you want help with anything while you’re in Nepal.

My friend and I came to Kathmandu airport without any specific plans, we met Badri (thanks a lot to you) in the airport and he got us a hotel and explained a few things, we were offered a review of their treks and said yes, where we got the most amazing guide you could ever want for your Himalayan trek (thanks a lot Chris).

All in all, we had great help, made a couple of great friends, who both assured we had the greatest experience in Nepal… We took a chance trusting something that could have gone in any way. And my god, we were NEVER disappointed!!

thank you so much both of you!
