Gokyo Valley Via Renjo Pass
Of the several trekking routes available in Khumbu region of Nepal, this is considered to be one of the best options for those trekkers who are ready for some adventurous and walks. You will visit some of the least explored valleys of Khumbu and spend ample time exploring the villages and monasteries, thereby experiencing the unmatchable and warm hospitality offered by the local Sherpa people. These are some of the reasons why this trek is highly recommended to people who seek real experience of the Himalayas and Himalayan lifestyle that can hardly be found elsewhere in the world.
The 14-day adventure begins with the domestic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. From Lukla begins the real trek and you head for Phakding, your first stopover during the entire trip. Further ahead are the famous villages of Namche Bazar, Dole, Machchhermo, Thamserku as well as many glaciers and glacial lakes. You will also ascend to the peak of Gokyo Ri (5357 m), the only trekking peak open in Khumbu area.
Gokyo Valley is another important location that offers incredible views of peaks like Mt. Everest, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Makalu, all above 8000 m in altitude. The trail continues through Renjo Pass lying as high as 5345 m and finally ends at Lukla via Thame, Dudh Pokhari and Phakding. From Lukly you will fly back to Kathmandu boarding a domestic flight.
